(in reply to: Visit Visa and pregnancy - Roy please advice) Hi,
I had joined my husband in Canada being pregnant and I had visit visa. At the same day when I arrived I applyed for work permit. My husband had study permit.
After recieving work permit I applyed for med insurence.
So I had delivery in Canada for free, and my baby is Canadian.

(in reply to: Visit Visa and pregnancy - Roy please advice) You can apply for extension visitor visa but in that case she can´t recieve canadian insurance. You will pay for delivery. It is not cheap. At least 5.000 $.
But you can try to get study permit for her. Just enroll in college or ...

(in reply to: Visit Visa and pregnancy - Roy please advice) I know about BC. I guess that in other Provinces the same.
Here is: 1 day at hospital 2.000 for mom and 1.000 for baby, admission fee - 1.000, doctor´s fee - about 1.000 + if you need epidural 1.500 +.....

(in reply to: Visit Visa and pregnancy - Roy please advice) If you sponsored her your responsible for her not the rest of Canada.
Pay up.
And don´t be so keen to sponsor people when you have no intention of doing so when push comes to shove.

(in reply to: Visit Visa and pregnancy - Roy please advice) Dear Mini
The whole nine months should be around $3,000.00 (that is what I paid) to up to $5,000.00 your child will be covered the second it is born. In Ontario we only got charged $300.00 for an epdural.
There is several OBG´s that only do foreign births in the Toronto area.
