Subject: tourist visa while sponsorship applic is in proces
  Hi,
Could anyone please answer the following question. The file for a sponsorship application for my mother has just been transfered to the embassy in the country she will be applying, 28 months after being processed in Canada. I have not yet received a package with the actual application form for an immigration visa that my mother has to send to the embassy. Therefore technically speaking she has not applied for an immigration visa yet, although she´s got a file number now according to the letter I have received from Missisagua which states that her file has been transferred.
I am now applying for a visitor visa for her and for the question asking about whether or not she has ever applied for any Canadian visa I didn´t indicate that her file has been transferred and she is going to apply for an immigration visa eventually. Is it untruthful on my part? Can they track down the fact that her file has been transferred and deny her tourist visa because I didn´t indicate this fact? My understanding is before she has actually apllied for an immigration visa there is no need to indicate the intention. Am I right?
We haven´t sent the application for a tourist visa yet, it is still in the mail for my Mom to get and send it along with her passport. Is it too risky to apply for it now or better to apply for an immigration visa first and indicate that in the application for a tourist visa? I realise that it is very difficult to get a tourist visa while awating an immigration visa, but at the same time don´t want to jeopardise her application for an immigration visa by not being truthfull in the application for a tourist visa.
Hope someone can answer my question.
Thanks a lot in advance
