Subject: Canadian Consulate
Very soon I am taking IELTS test and have a question about how the scores are sent to the Canadian Consulate. The application form I am supposed to fill before the test has an option to fill in the details for the institute and organizations where I would like to send the results of the test.

1). Do I fill in the details for the consulate? OR The scores are sent to the consulate automatically and directly by the testing centre?

2). I am kind of confused about this one. I understand that, I can appear for the test any number of times. In case, I dont get expected scores.
Now, if the results (for the first test) get sent to the consulate but I want to reappear for the test again (second test). What happens? Do the results for the second test are sent again? Or I can choose and not send the scores which are below expected?

Please, any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Zobella,

1) YOU are sending the IELTS results to the Consulate, along with your application, therefore you should select to have the results mailed to your home address, not directly to the Consulate.

2) You can retake IELTS, and it will show that it is a retake. Again, have it sent to your home address.

Good Luck!

Thanks Uniden for replying. But will they accept "OPENED" results. I understand that Institutes only accept sealed results.

Thanks again.

I forgot to mention, We have already submitted the application. We were asked later to take the test.

Zobella,

"Sealed Results" is your own misunderstanding, as it does NOT refer to IELTS test results, but to the original transcripts sent to CIC in an university-sealed envelope.
IELTS does not need to be sent "sealed", but it has to be the ORIGINAL. A difference, isn´t it?!? :)

Just follow my advice and have the IELTS sent to your home address. Once you receive it, submit it to CIC with your case number, your name, birthday, and the country of origin on the envelope, and inside in a short cover letter, possibly with a copy of CIC´s letter requesting the IELTS results.

If you are in the US, send it via USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation, this way you will KNOW for sure that it has indeed been received by CIC.

Good Luck!
