Subject: Who takes the IELTS test?
Me and husband has applied for canada immigration. We received a letter saying that he needs to take the exam. He is the primary applicant for our application. I was wondering if only he has to take the test or we both have.

Please share if you have any information or had the same situation.

Thanks.

Its the primary applicant who has to take the general training module test of IELTS.

Fact is that only the principal applicant needs proof of language proficiency, that´s why only your husband was asked to take the IELTS test.

We have submitted the IELTS results for just the primary applicant, and also claimed basic knowledge of the French language in listening in writing, and for that we provided proof that both of us had at least 6 years of French as a foreign language during our school time. We know that IELTS is sufficient for English, but remains to be seen if our proof for French is Ok. We certainly hope so.

Good Luck!
