| Subject: Passport request and visa stamping |

Hi, all!
The info:
SW category, USA-based applicants, Buffalo
AOR: August 2005
IA: September 2006
Medicals submitted: November 2006
Passport request: December 2006
My questions:
1. Instead of mailing our passports, can I go to Buffalo and get the visas stamped in our passports?
2. I am not the principal applicant, my wife is. Can I still go to Buffalo alone?
3. Does the visa-stamping procedure get completed in one day?

take use of rep from your wife just in case, but I think it should be ok.
an dthe visa is not stamped it is affixed to the passport. there is no stamps involved.
only when you land.

..and now in detail:
Your passport request letter, Page 2, Option A: "Submit your passports in person" states:
"Passports can be brought to our office:
One HSBC Centre, 30th floor, Buffalo, NY"
"Passports may be brought in on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday between the hours of 8:00 am and 11:00 am. Bring this letter when you come."
"Every effort will be made to have your passports ready to be picked up between 1:30 and 3:00 pm the same day"
"You may send a representative with your passports. Your representative must have your WRITTEN AUTHORIZATION and will be required to show photo identification"
..sometimes all the answers are right in front of us..
