Subject: Student Visa From India - Missing BF - How long?
My boyfriend is an Indian resident. He applied for a student visa and has acceptance to a Canadian university. He has more than the required funds to live for one year in Canada. Sounds great except they called him about his job experience for some reason. I´m scared he won´t get it now. He then got a second call asking to resubmit some kind of fee.

How far along does his case sound? Its hard for me to understand all these technicalities so I´m wondering if a seasoned expert here can tell me how much longer it might take to get any answer from immigration.

Sincerely,
A girl missing her long lost love.

He is applying for both -- PR and Student Visa. It´s dual intention !! But I´ve heard things work out just fine with dual intention.

Thing is, I really don´t wanna get married until after I know we are compatible actually living together.:P

Why would he do both at the same time? He should have done it one at a time. First the student visa and after arriving in Canada start the PR process. Things dont look so good. But asking to submit a fee is better than an outright rejection. Order for CAIPS notes to see whats going on. Good luck.

CAIPS is an acronym for Computer Assisted Immigration Processing System. It is part of the Electronic Data Processing (EDP) system used by the Canadian Immigration offices to process visa applications.

Your CAIPS file will have valuable information on the processing of your Canadian permanent residence application. CAIPS is NOT same as the "e-Client", which only provides limited information on the status of your application.

I believe if you are a citizen or PR you can do it for $5 from:

Thanks.

Nice that its five bucks for citizens but if you are a citizen or a PR why would you need the CAIPS info?

You can order it for the prospective PR if you are a citizen or a PR. Going through agents (www.caipsnotes.com) can cost you upto $30.
