Subject: FBI Police Clearance sittting in Pakistan
Hi everyone. Hope u guys doing good. I got a quick question. I resided in US for more than five years. Now I am planning to apply for canadian immig. on skilled bases. Currently i am in my home country Pakistan, how do i get police clearance from fbi while sitting in pak.

Should i just send my fingerprint to FBI´s address(will get that from internet)? May be attaching a letter a good idea? what should i explain in letter that i am applying for canadian immig and thats why i need clearance? I think its imp to mention that i didnt have any legal status in US.

I would appreciate any advice. Thank you

Sincerely,

Danish

Newdanny,

I have heard from others that they sent FBI fingerprinting forms (FD-258) overseas, where fingerprints were taken by local law enforcement and sent back to the FBI for evaluation.

You can use the cover letter provided on Page 8 of this PDF document, which explains why you need your fingerprints checked (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/E37048.pdf), even if you are not applying through Buffalo. You can replace "Buffalo" with your visa center in Pakistan if you wish. Follow the rest of the instructions on how to send it to FBI as you were applying from the US.

The legality of your status in the United States does NOT matter at all. FBI will only check your fingerprints and scan their database for any arrests. At no time will there be a validation of your immigration status in the US, past or present. Do not get confused, FBI is not INS / USCIS!

Good Luck!

I would suggest you to get a lawyer who can do all this on your behalf here.

Finger prints in pakistan (in reply to: FBI Police Clearance sittting in Pakistan)
Hi Danish,

I was wondering where would you go to get your finger prints taken in Pakistan. My husband is in a similar position. He lived in Canada for 2 years and now he is in Pakistan. We got the prints taken at the local Police station and RCMP returned the prints saying they are not clear. I beleive the Pakistani police is not trained to take proper rolled out fingerprints. I was wondering if you know of a professional agency that might be able take proper prints.

FBI Police Certificate from Pakistan (in reply to: FBI Police Clearance sittting in Pakistan)
I lived in US for a few years. Now I live in Pakistan. London Office of Canadian Immigration is requiring me to get FBI Police Certificate. I have no clue how to proceed. Iemailed all the info. to local FBI office(US Embassy in Islamabad) as listed by FBI website. They have declined saying that they do not have facilities to fulfill my request. As the deadline is looming I am getting worried. Please help.
