Subject: Laminated Marriage Certificate ! Is that Problem ?
Hi Friends,
My marriage certificate is laminated in transparant sheet.

Is there any rule that original certificate should not be laminated or something like that ?

Experts/Experienced ppl comments please...

Don´t worry! For the application you will only need a notarized COPY of your certificate. Don´t even think to submit the originals! Always keep such irreplaceable documents at a safe place. A copy is sufficient for the application.

Lucky,

If your certificate is laminated it cannot be undone. In this case, even if it was a problem, there is not much you can do about it.

You definitely worry too much. Which interview?!? You don´t even know if you will be called for an interview in the first place. Should you get called for an interview, years from now when your turn comes, then take your laminated certificate and show it to the immigration office IF he asks for it. Don´t feed your paranoia! Focus on your IELTS test and on how to file your application right the first time.

Good Luck!

Well, then file your application first and then try to get another certificate if you really think it is needed. Since you´re already in Canada, you could call CIC and ask if your certificate is Ok the way it is. That´s more proactivity than going through getting a new one :)

Come back in a few months and let us know how it all went :) I am not that lucky, my turn will be in "many months" rather than "a few months". I am patient.. :)

Are we there yet? :)

Ok, screw the patience! Maybe I am not as patient as I claim to be.

Good Luck!!!
