Subject: File Transfer - India to USA
I filed for skilled worker immigration 2 years ago in India (Delhi) and received a File number. Now I am residing and working in the US last one year, considering the process time to process an application in India, I would like to transfer my file to USA. Please let me know the process to transfer the file including the steps, fees etc.

Thanks

Your out of luck they will not transfer your file and there is no logical reason to do so.

Since you already have North American experience why not go the PNP root and get processed & landed while working in the States.

Guest88,

From what I have heard so far, to ask CIC to transfer your file to a different processing center or country is not impossible, but CIC will likely not do anything about it. Only CIC can transfer your file, solely at CIC´s discretion.. But I do not want to speculate at all, please have a look at this document and decide for yourself:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/manuals-guides/english/op/op01e.pdf

The information you are looking for is in Chapter 5.19 on Page 13 of the CIC manual for Overseas Processing (OP).

Good Luck!

Do It Again. (in reply to: File Transfer - India to USA)
I think time you will spent to transfer your file from India to USA and if they transfer the files then also they start processing from the beginning so there is no USE what i would advice that you should contact good lawyer and file it again.

Best of Luck

A related question.....

In the event I retain my papers at Delhi, India can I provide them with a change of address, which is outside India ie USA - where I currently reside ???

Thanks
