Subject: WP to PR ...a couple of queries |
|

|
I was on Work-Permit and my SIN starts with digit 9. I had provided this SIN to my employer, so that they can deduct the Income tax at their end while paying me the salary. I have recently got my PR and would be applying for new SIN as my status has been changed.
There are a couple of queries I need clarification on:
1) Do I need to apply for new SIN at the earliest or getting it changed on a leter date would be fine as well?
2) If I get a new SIN and don´t let my employer know about that, would they(my employer) be able to deposit tax against my old SIN or they would get some kind of transaction failure while doing that ?
3) Is my old SIN valid for any IT/Tax purposes or it would no longer be valid for making any transactions agianst it(Tax deduction etc).

(in reply to: WP to PR ...a couple of queries) what a big deal to give updated SIN to your employer?
old is old, 9 is temp SIN..I believe HRSDC they just covert number, not necessary change any information inside.. just get a new SIN and give it to your employer..
U do not wanna mess around with CRA... who is your big mama
