Many have suggested to apply for immigration under the spousal application from outside Canada as it would take no more than 4 months.
If I do decide to apply from within Canada;
1. Which forms need to be filled?
2. Where do they have to be submitted?
3. How long does it take?
4. IMPORTANT: Do I get a work permit to start working and how long does it take to receive that work permit?

Your best resource is the CIC website - www.cic.gc.ca They have two different spousal/common-law/conjugal partner applications - one filed from within Canada (inland application) and one from outside. You can follow the links to one or the other. An inland application, originally filed with the Case Processing Center in Vegreville, AB, takes from 12-18 months to process - the applicant is able to apply for a work permit once Approval in Principle is granted (currently 9-10 months into the process).
An outside application is initially sent to the CPC in Mississauga, ON. Once the sponsorship is approved they transfer the file to the Visa office, in your case, in India that is responsible for your area. The time it takes to process an outside application will depend on how quickly that particular office "works". There is no provision for a work permit on an outside ap - the applicant is allowed to work only once PR is granted as the assumption is that an applicant filing an outside application is not in Canada wanting to work in the first place.

The only questions I have now are;
1. If applied from outside Canada how long does it take?
2. If applied from outside Canada can I stay in Canada with my wife and only go to India once I am called for the interview?
