Subject: Work on H1
  Hi,

I landed in Canada 6 months back from USA. Till now I am not able to find job. My previous USA employer is ready to do my H1 again. Is it possible to work in USA and still keep alive my Canadian PR by paying taxes in Canada. I have an apartment in Burlington.

Any advise is appreciated.

Thanks,

You can, as long as you live 2 out of 5 years in Canada. If you don´t you may lose your Canadian PR.

Keep looking for a Canadian job, you may get lucky!

Good Luck!

Thanks Uniden for your reply.

Is my working in USA will count to-wards staying in Canada, as I am paying taxes in Canada every year. I will just be having an apartment in Canada, but living in USA. I will be visiting canada every month to get mails etc. Will this kind of scenerio will count towards getting Canadian citizen ship.

Thanks again.

Your time in the US will NOT count as staying in Canada. Only your time in Canada counts as staying in Canada.
