(in reply to: roy: from philippines. just want to ask) Dear Sheka
The fact that your sister thinks she is doing the right thing even though she isn?t shows that your sister loves you. Don?t be angry with her she means well.
The answer depends in part on the country or visa post your family must apply through and in your case Manila.
Go to CIC web site www.cic.gc.ca and look for Quick Links on the right side then processing times. Since you?re included in your parents application the link is here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/times-int/08-fc-parents.html
Check your visa posts processing times 27-39 months and add 29 months for your sister?s approval as a sponsor for sponsoring parents and their dependents within Canada. You can confirm the 29 months by going back and checking parental sponsorship processing from within Canada. Another way is to go to this site. www.sponsoryourparents.ca they have more realistic overseas processing times. The average processing time for parental sponsorship is five years or longer depending on your visa post.
Regardless of the visa post ask yourself if your parents will pass their medicals in five or six years? I am ashamed of these processing times because it does not comply with the IRPA objectives of prompt processing or family reunification.
How can any province and the federal government approve a SW PNP application in eight months and the federal government take 57 months from the same visa post? I do not do parental sponsorship applications from outside of Canada only inside of Canada but getting the parents here to apply from within can be difficult.
Based on your own personal circumstances possibly try to get a PNP certificate for yourself if you meet the requirements.
Wish you the best.
Roy
