Subject: Student visa before common law?
  Here´s a new question:

My American fiance is coming to Canada to continue his education. If he came here on a student visa and we lived together would I then be able to sponsor him as a common-law spouse? He would be living with me while at school, should we mention that on his student visa application?
Would he be forced to leave the country right after his school ends?

Any information would be helpful.

Think again!!!!!!!

If he is coming to set up house with you, then he is not a student.

A student is a temporary application. A student is one that is suppose to leave when the SV expires. Don´t mention anything because on the first day of cohabitaion you may kick him out for snoring or worse.

If it works out as you dream then sponsor him but only then.
