Hi guys n gals,
I have been a PR since last March and in that time have had my ups and downs here in Canada - mostly ups - the only downs pertaining with the struggle to find employment in my field - however I am still working on that!
Just today the sun was shining and I was making my way to a near by swimming complex that is situated heading towards the airport I used to land at when staying for the maximum 6 months (without extension). It was such a nice feeling to know that I no longer have to head off to the airport to leave this great country.
For all those undergoing immigration let me offer these words - hold on in there it will pay off for you in the end - just think no matter how long your immigration takes each day you are a day nearer to your goal.
Best of luck to everyone :)

(in reply to: Hold on in there!) Immigration requirements state that persons from the UK are allowed to stay upto 6-months in the country as a visitor although once inside canada you can extend this time by submitting a fee and form for extension. prior to submitting my PR application and during the application process itself i lived with my partner in canada subject to leaving every 6-months for a few days before returning - quite costly but well worth it for me as we did not have to be apart
