| Subject: earning enough? |

I married my partner in September. We got married out of the country and I came back to Canada on a visitors visa. We were given some money from our wedding which I am surviving on at the moment. I am curious about whether my partner has to be making over a certain amount of money to be eligible to sponser me. How long does it take for a work visa to come through? Once I have that I will be able to pay for myself and our combined income will alomost double.

Check the time line @ www.cic.gc.ca but usually it takes about 16 months for you be able to work.
