Subject: livi in canada work in uk
Would it be possible for me to buy a house in Canada, have my wife and children live ther while I commute to the uk to work. My wife would not need to work but obviously my children would need to attend school. I have coleagues who do this in Spain and Portugal. We would sell our house in the uk.Does anyone out there have any knowledge on this.

This is very possible depending on the way you do it.

What I think your referring to is a way to get around the residency requirements. If you a PR you can start a company in Canada and go abroad and work full time for a Canadian company (yourself) and depending on some details you can stay out as long as you like.

See IRPA section 28 (2) (iii) plus you need to read the regulations and manuals which state you must pay taxes on money earned while working outside of Canada and some minor details on what is a Canadian company.
