Subject: Better applying with wife in Canada or Poland?
Hi everyone, I would be grateful for some input on our situation.

My Polish wife and I (Canadian) were married this summer. Now she is in Poland working, I in Canada. I am just waiting to receive her documents to apply for sponsoring her as my wife. However we are a bit concerned about the possible processing time of likely 9 months or more. We are starting to consider a different approach (the more shady one) of trying for her to get another visa to visit canada (maybe a multiple entry) and apply for her permanent residence when she gets here (possibly February).

The postives are: we are together...the negatives: she isn´t able to leave Canada (until she gets her PR), I don´t think she can work here legally until she gets the PR. Also the big problem is that maybe she can´t even get a visitors visa again because she has to say she is married to a Canadian and immigration canada will think (rightfully) that she is coming to stay....like it´s such a horrible thing for Canada.

Could anyone out there give some advice on the situation of applying with a spouse outside Canada or within. And any positive/negative immigration sides to it. I really can not find any information about the situation for applying from within canada and what to expect. Any links would also be welcome.
Many thanks in advance
Lee

The links are there on the right side called processing times but they are confusing. Overseas processing to approve you as a sponsor 43 days to have Mississauga to approve you as the sponsor. She will need to do her medical now and to get proof of no convictions before you submit. Then 4-9 months through Warsaw her visa post see http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/times-int/05-fc-spouses.html

Then eight to nine months Inland to get stage one approval for a work permit then another 15-16 months for actual Landing under H&C factor so two years within Canada and maybe six months outside of Canada.

Regarding working without authorization is something I can not telll anyone to do because that would get me in trouble but according to Dr. Reitz Immigration Professor University of Toronto their is 600,000 undocumented workers in Canada and 12 million in the states.

Sponsor her now outside of Canada but be sure to answer the non numbered question at the end of both questionnaires real well and be able to show the two of you have bonded.
