Subject: TOEFL instead
Do they accept TOEFL as a test of english proficiency instead of ILETS? I am asking becasue I don´t have IELTS test center in the state where I am living. Your reply is highly appreciated.
Thanks

Aref,

Please follow this link to learn more about assessing your language skills:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/skilled/qual-3-1.html

It seems that only IELTS (International English Language Testing System) and CELPIP (Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program) are approved English language testing organizations. From reading many other posts in different Canada immigration forums, I understood that TOEFL is not accepted by CIC. I had TOEFL but had to take the IELTS test before submitting my application (because I chose to submit all supporting documents at the time of filing, but you can submit your IELTS after you submit your application).

If you can´t take the IELTS in your home state, try to find it in the closest neighboring state. You will have to find a way to take the test if you are interested in proving your ability to speak English and have it affirmed by an organization 100% approved and accepted by CIC. We all have to play by CIC´s rules..

Good luck!

Uniden

I took TOEFL and they don´t accept it, instead they require me to take IELTS. I had to drive 3 hrs to go to the testing center because that´s the nearest one. Goodluck.
