Subject: What are our chances?
  Hi,
I was just wondering what people think of our chances of getting into canada as a skilled worker. We are both in our early 20s have a young son and im working in architectural technology, im also studing @ university. Would saying on the forms that we intend to move to Nova Scotia improve our chances? (i´ve heard that they are looking to increase migration to the atlantic provinces)
Thanks for your time.

If this is a serious post...

It´s a good way to go broke. Maybe you won´t even be able to cloth and feed your child after you get there.

Honestly, Canadian immigration is nothing but a cruel scam for most people who go to Canada.

type in "not canada" in a search engine and see what you find.

Canada makes tons of money off of newcomers, but few get jobs. It´s not like the USA where the employers [typically] consider credentials, qualifications, etc. most Canadian empl. view national origin as a priority over anything else.

Canada lies about employment too. They have a much more harsh economy than the USA. That´s why people have to make money as "immigration consultants" and lie to newcomers, just to make a quick thousand off of them.

Don´t be fooled. You and your children can´t afford to pay the price.

Only go if you have prearranged, guaranteed employment [unlikely] or if you have several million in the bank to sustain you through your children´s university studies and into your retirement.

Also, there is far more crime and other problems in Canada than one would imagine. Newcomers are targeted for crime and scams and authorities generally are too busy or too prejudiced [both] to waste resources investigating non violent crimes agains non-citizens.

July 11, 2006 Globe and Mail "Canada NOT welcoming to immigrants, study finds"

Find it and read it. Find the study and read that.

Don´t listen to anyone on here. 1/2 of these people are making money off of giving ´advice´ to newcomers.

118.175.24 - if you would spend as much time looking for a job as you do dumping garbage all over this forum - you would have nothing to complain about.

Children will be bad Sharon. His attitude is why he can not find employment. He believes he is the chosen one and no one else believes it.

Regarding the Maritimes it depends where your studies took place.

Most agricultural positions in the maritimes are listed with the actual province own agricultural ministries but try www.careerbeacon.com

Good luck.

You people really are sick and debased. You are leeches that feed off of newcomers to Canada by charging them huge fees to process applications for PR when you know more than half won´t get a job and will go home in a few years.

You deny reality, because you must, in order to justify the "services" and "consulting´ you claim to provide.

But anyone that would sit on this forum and allow a family with a young child to make a costly mistake, is really really sick.

Shame on all of you. BTW, we Americans aren´t having the employment problems you in Canada are having....and apparently everyone on here thinks all Americans who post here are stupid / the same.

Shame on you. You filthy liars.
Shame.
Maybe one day your stream of immigration clients to Canada will dry up, and you people will wind up in the soup kitchen, or possibly finding a real job, with honest work!
