I was reading about those guy (attorneys) who represent you with your case and help you with your application to get a skilled worker visa in canada. Are these guys legit? Since my finances aren´t close to the $10,000 mark, will hiring those guys for ($2,000) be to my advantage? or should i just save my money and try this on my own? Cuz, i think having a representative would be an advantage, but, that would be $2,000 coming off from the money i have in my account. Any advice?

Best to NOT have the advice - I did my application on my own - then by chance would you believe - met an immigration lawyer who specialises in Skilled worker aps. She looked over my stuff (for free) and told me that I had done a good enough job on my own. She had nothing further to add.

if you can read, and you can manage details...there is nothing about an immigration application that you cannot do yourself. when you get stuck - there are always people around here willing to help.

If you are considering the Provincial Nominee Program - a consultant could prove helpful. Most of us are not very familiar with it.

Shane,

As a landed PR I would say PLEASE DO NOT LET OTHERS MILK YOU..

Just go to the CIC immigration site that is the offical site for immigration, everything is there, read everything, download all the required documents from there, if you have any questions about forms or anything on mind come here and let us know ...

I did everything on my own, never asked anything to anybody just followed the instruction in the CIC immigration site and sent everything and got my PR just after a year...

Please go to this site and read everything there

Good luck

As for the PNP program, our agent was working very closely with us, from getting the LMO to filling PNP forms, that agent belongs to the PNP Alberta office, they are asigned depending on the ministry concerned to your application, ie Agriculture, Technology and so on. Is not that hard.
Best regards.
Javier
