Subject: Work in Canada on 1yr visa while applying for immi |
Hello,
Is it possible to apply for immigration to Canada, whilst here in the UK (either in my own right or as a common law partner) and then also apply for a 1yr working visa and work in Canada while my permenant visa is being processed?
Much appreciated.

(in reply to: Work in Canada on 1yr visa while applying for immi) If you receive your work permit first then arrive in Canada you can submit a second application for spousal/partner sponsorship.

(in reply to: Work in Canada on 1yr visa while applying for immi) Apply as common law, it will take 4-12 monthas as opposed to skilled worker (currently around 4 years - see processing times at CIC´s website). You can apply for a working visa - do you mean BUNAC? But they are all gone for this year so you have to apply in Jan. I came across on a BUNAC while the Common law PR was going through - no problems. It´s MUCH harder to get a one year working visa if you don´t go via BUNAC - have to prove you´ve got skills a Canadian doesn´t, etc.
