  BRIAN-

Additional documents they asked were - W2 for last 2 years (or was it 3), Bank Statement (last 3 months), Letter from current employer, Police Certificate from home country, FBI Certificate, RPRF Fee and ofcourse instruction to go ahead with medicals.

I´d say you should apply for Police Certificate and FBI (I assume you are in the US). These take about 6-8 weeks - so if you want to cut waiting it is a good idea - anyway they are vaild for 6 months from date of issue so you are good (safely assuming they will ask for your Police Certf in next 6 months). It is only a cost of $25-30 so I´d say it is worth it.

OM-

Hang in there. I was loosing hope like you. A friend of mine (we applied together) with almost similar credientials was informed of interview and later they said it is not necessary. Order CAIPS and see why interview is needed. I´d say if possible submit additional docs on your self - for e.g. if they are not satisfied by your English then submit a document to state you have command over English from your supervisor etc. This cuts time and helps you from unnecessary travel to consulate etc.

Believe me I emailed CIC just 2 days back and they sent me a generic reply stating my case is still under process and shall take 6-9 months. Behold in just two days my life changed! Make sure you don´t throw your mail! It may be a letter from CIC man!

SHARON-

Matters of heart are difficult to say anything about. You have by far suffered the maximum on this forum. I know you for almost 2 years through this forum and I just hope all goes well with you and your partner. Yes, on a good side it has given you both time to determine if you are right for each other. I´m sure once together it will make you appriciate how important you are to each other!

Thanks Peter for the answer.

I am so happy it worked well for you, waiting 10 months after submitting the documents is not very easy, but you did hang in there !

Brian

Thank you Peter for your answer and encouragement. As I said do keep in touch. I get jitters when I hear about job market there. When you plan to land?

OM-

I´m not sure about landing. All depends on what dates CIC gives on visa. I´d want to land towards the end of my visa date. What about job market? Is it that bad? Well I´d have to see it for myself. Yes, anytime - I shall be posting my experience(s) as they happen.

Are there any smaller places to target? I don´t plan to land in a the top 5 cities. I figure these are already taken! I plan to begin some place small I can have a balance of life and work.

BRIAN-

Yes, it does get frustrating after couple of months of submitting all they asked of you. But I guess with almost 660,000 cases in files still to clear I´m lucky to see light at end of the tunnel.

The job market was not good last year, but what I have heard from the people who live there, that it has improved very much.
