  We´re finally done.

I got the passports back with visa and COPR on Friday 12:00 pm. Aslo a letter mentioning that I´d get half of my landing fee back soon.

We immidiately drove from Vancouver to Peace Arch, crossed the US border. I explained to the US border officer that I´m going to turn around and land in Canada. Despite what I heard before, he didn´t give me any refusal paper and just showed me the return way to Canadian Custom.

So we returned and went into Canadian immigration and custom office when a Canadian border officer led us to do so. Immigration part was quite welcoming and pleasant. He didnt even ask for proof of fund. We submitted our list of goods to follow to the custom, and that was it.

A total 3 hour round-trip from downtown Vancouver, and we are landed immigrants now.

The funny part is that E-case didn´t change until I landed.

I hope you guys all get yours soon.

We didn´t have anything with us. But we made a list of goods to follow as we may travel to our home country this winter and bring some stuff with us.

They didn´t ask for photos, and used the one we had submited before.

OK so did u actually make the application as a skilled worker in Jan 2006? and got it now in June 2006?

Did u use an attorney? or did u have a job offer already?
Im just curious, because i spoke with a lawyer and she made it seem like this process takes a year to 18 months??
But from checkin some ppl´s app history, its seems so fast?

JAJA,
I applied Jan 2005 (not 2006).
Neither job offer nor a lawyer. PR application is quite straight forward thing to do. Getting a laywer is nothing but wasting your money.

Congratulations AB. I am going to be landing on the 4th of July weekend and had a quick question.

In the "Goods to follow" list how much do you need to go into details. For eg Can I just club things as "Kitchen Appliances" or do you have to list them separately - mixer, toaster, Coffer maker etc.

Thanks

Hey AB, now that you have landed how did the immigration office copmplete the process of filling in the information in COPR. Did she / he handwrite it or directly feed the info in the system ( computer )and attached a photograph to the application and asked you to sign.

I landed in March 2006 and she filled in all the info in the system like the address where the PR card will be sent ( I gave my friends address in Canada ) and some details she filled in handwritten like date of landing and via what route. I landed at the YYZ airport on a Sunday morning.

Till date I have not received my PR card at my friends address. But yes SIN has been received as I stayed there for 1 working day and completed the process.

Secondly, I have also written to the PR card center but no word yet.

Would you let me know your experience.

Thanks,

I was given a refusal of entry document by US immigration after a 2 hour wait. Wonder if this affects future trips to US?
