Subject: Think I found an error on my CPR

I think I found a serious error on my CPR (Confirmation of Permanent residence) form. On the date field number 18, it says "yes". I looked on the back of the form and on the explanation of field number 18 it says: 18 convicted of a crime or offence; refused admission to canada or required to leave canada.

This does not make any sense at all, how can it say "yes" to being convicted of a crime or offece and still get the visa? of course I have not commited any crime or anything like that, otherwise they would not have issued me the visa.

what i´m thinking is that maybe they put "yes" because on 2004 I applied for a study permit, because I got a scholarship to come to canada for four months as an exchange student from my university in mexico. but I did not continue the process, I did not follow it up because I found out that Mexicans do not need a study permit if the course of study is for six months or less, and I did not submit the medical results. therefore, they rejected my study permit, even though I was already in canada when this happen. i didn´t have any problems with customs. so, i was rejected my study permit, but was not refused admission to canada.

im worried about this because I guess this will get me into trouble when landing. i already faxed the embassy in mexico city explaning this mistake, but havent responed yet.

what do you guys think is happening here?

I meant to say on the data field number 18, not the date field number 18.
