Subject: No Visa - Is that Normal? |

Hi Guys,
I am wondering if any of you are in the same boat. Our medicals are expiring in a month and we havent received the passport request yet. Is that normal? I always thought they issue the visas before medicals expire, but one month seems like not much time left....
What do you think?

(in reply to: No Visa - Is that Normal?) I think you´ll get PPR soon. Send e-mail, may be. at leas you´ll know what is the state of your case (hopefully they will reply).
We got our PPR in 6 months after the medicals expiration date (applied to Buffalo), we were not asked to redo them.

(in reply to: No Visa - Is that Normal?) Since the delay is because of them, they will normally extend the validity of the medicals.

(in reply to: No Visa - Is that Normal?) So basically it doesn´t mean that if medicals are expiring then visas should be issued soon?

(in reply to: No Visa - Is that Normal?) There is no exact answer.
Let´s say: CIC is trying to finish everything before medicals expiration, but because of recent backlog (or long background checking) in some cases it takes more than a year after medicals are done to process the case and usually medical´s validation is extended.
