Subject: Medical exam 6 month later?
I received my IA today and the medical form. The interview is waived.

The Medical information says "Please do not schedule your medical exam until 6 months from the date of this letter. If you complete your medicals too soon, you may be required to be re-examined."

Does anyone here have the same experience? Thanks for help!

Sounds like they haven´t finished the background check but anticipate it will be ok. But I wonder why they wouldn´t just hold off on sending the medical forms until they´re ready for having it completed immediately?

Thanks Richard! The letter also requires me to send an update letter of work experience and proof of funds. Could this cause the delay?

They always say that for medicals exams they send with interviews because interviews are scheduled much later.

Since the medicals are valid for only 1 year, they want you to do the meds much later to they don´t expire too early. The process can finish quite fast once your interview is finished.

I don´t think interview is the case, because the letter says no interview is required for me. Very puzzling...

Sounds like you have to go for an interview later on.

yeah something in the processing that is prior to the medical exams hasn´t quite finished yet...

In my opinion IA was sent since already a year passed since forms were submitted. If something in processing is anticipated to be taking around 5 to 6 months, they probably didn´t want to hold the IA from sending since it would be way too long that the candidate starts to worry about things i.e. missing mail, or worries of forms missing and things like that.

One of the things they want to make sure is about your employment and proof of funds, also might be something else that they may ask you to submit during this 5 to 6 months time.

Goodluck...

My timeline (Buffalo, US):
Submitted application on : Sep 10, 2004
AOR: Dec 30, 2004
IA: Jun 1, 2006 with medical form

They were suspending my application for 1 year(may 2005-may 2006), since my co-op experience didn´t count. I gained 1 year non-coop experience by this May and IA just came after that.

Thanks for everyone´s information, I really appreciate it.
