Subject: with the intention to visit Canada for 15 days
Hi, I am from Manila, Philippines and have planned for my visit to Canada with the invitation of my boyfriend from Hamilton. In the list of documents that I should provide it says that I must provide proof of funds showing history, such as current and previous savings passbook and ITR. Or ATM account history of transaction. My airfare will be paid for by my boyfriend and he will also be responsible for all my room and board expenses. What I want to know is that if it will be sufficient enough to just present my employment certificate of compensation, land title(mortgaged), & my ITR. I have an ATM account but it is a joint account for me and my kids and I dont think its proper for me to present that as a source of fund. Thanks, I would appreciate your advise.

show all (in reply to: with the intention to visit Canada for 15 days)
wht isn´t it proper?
you need not only to show that you rhave money, but lso that you will return to Manila after the visit. hardcore proof for that! this is probably one of the most important things. Having a boy frriend who is Canadian is problematic for sure... show u hav estrong connectrion to the Philipines not Canada! employment letter, land title, bank acounts, kids, all show u have funds and will return to the Philipines.

I´m always interested when reading these posts, how the hell do you live in say, Phillipines, Europe, UK, India etc and yet have a Canadian boyfriend/girlfriend, how did you meet and how can you have a long distance affair. Seeing eachother for 15 days in what, a year or maybe even longer. I´m sorry if I offend anyone it´s not my intention but what is the point? and it always seems to be the case of - my boyfriend is paying for everything....sounds just like a meal ticket to me !!

some people just do not believe in fairy tales (in reply to: with the intention to visit Canada for 15 days)
Edith,
Follow WTF´s advice. The consular people would just return your application if you refuse to submit ALL the paper work they require. So give them all they ask for. Very important to show proof that you have obligations in the Philippines and will return.

Have fun and good luck with the relatioship, some people just don´t believe in fairy tales, its their loss and your gain!
