permit (in reply to: work visa) Britush citizens do not require a visa to Canada. what you apply for is a work permit. you must do that in a visa office outside of Canada (Buffalo, NY, Detroit, LA, DC).
You may remain in Canada while the application is in process. However, you must present yourself at a port of entry to actually get the permit. many people just drive to the US and loop back to Canada.

(in reply to: work visa) Thta´s not true. You can apply for a work permit in Canada. I did so many times now. You have to send your application to Vegreville case processing center in Alberta.
