Subject: Help please , I still confuse ????
Hi guy, i had post here one time about this question. But I did not get respone. Please help me. I am appreciated for your help.

On the Skill work class guilde state that "Obtained a two-year diploma, trade certificate or apprenticeship and completed at least 14 years of full-time or full-time equivalent studies ----> 20 points"

my situation is:
- normaly from elemetary school to highschool (junior and senior) is about 12 years education, but i past my normal age to attend regular education system. Therefore I could only completed my elemetary and highschool in night classes with 8 years. yes i did graduated and completed my highschool.
- I also studied 2 years diploma in canada. I graduated and now working on post-graduated visa right now.

my question is how can i calculate my education point? I can get 20 points because i had diploma? or I only got 10 points because i only had 10 years education (8 years of elemetary to highschool and 2 years of diploma). If not how many do i get? and how to calculate?

I really need your help. Thank you so much for your help.

Steven

My personal opinion is that if you had education to enter some kind of a colledge in Canada and now is working in a field of your study in Canada and have 1 year of work expierence you should be fine.

Thank you very much Olga.

Because i need to know how much points, to see i can pass the mark or not. i don´t want to apply then they will reduce my points then it lead to fail. But thank you very much for your opinion.

Dear Steven,

Just an advice, as far as I am concerned with your level of English no matter you can get some points for your education, your English really seems not appropriate enough to get some points in language... So better study hard and prepare for IELTS or any other language tests...

After solving your problem with your English consider applying for immigration...

Good luck

Steven, don?t worry about Mr. Anonymous comment. English isn?t our first language.

Make sure you have the necessary points and apply for the permanent residency.
Good luck.

Steven,

You finished High School (graduated) which is EQUIVALENT to 12 years schooling.

1. So you will get points for 12 years High School diploma (( NO matter how many years you went to school, you will get 12 years schooling credit))

2. According to the CIC
?Obtained a two-year diploma, trade certificate or apprenticeship and completed at least 14 years of full-time or full-time equivalent studies?

The key word here is - EQUIVALENT --?14 years of full-time or full-time equivalent studies?

You have total 14 years of schooling (12 school EQUIVALENT + 2 diploma)

I strongly believe you will get 20 points for your education; however, you might want to talk to an immigration consultant since you are in Canada.
