hi everyone
i am from india. my file was running under independent catagory in feb 2002. i have been get married in dec 2005. She is a canadian permanent reisdent.now when i see on the e-cas of cic site it shows that there are two file running simultenuosly. what should i do. pleae help me. My file which is running has started processing on 11th may 2006. what would happen. please help me.

By looking at processing times you will see the spousal sponsorship is far faster. Skilled worker processing times have increased more then 400% in the last decade. The new government is now talking about suspending any new applications so they can clean up the current backlog.
Your spousal application should go through okay as long as you and your spouse has submitted sufficent documentation regarding your marriage. Last bold part of the spousal questionnaires

I don´t believe you are allowed to have two applications in process at the same time. You will need to withdraw your independent resident application.

you must inform CIC about your change in status - regardless.

People, please stop giving this guy bad info. it is possible to have more than one application with cic as far as the two are not under the same category.Which ever comes first!
