Subject: Interview in L.A May 2006
  Hi Guy?s
I had my interview on 10th May 2006; was the first person to be interviewed. It lasted for 55 minutes the officer told me that i would be assessed on point system and then he asked me for all documents .He asked me about my previous/prsent work experience and some technical questions, I was surprised because all information that I had got from the forum was different. I was tense and was getting a feeling this guy is in a bad mood .I think he was trying to see how fluent I was with English. He asked for the following documents: Degree, Transcript, Bank Statement Letter from Employer and Divorce certificate .He told me to get the Divorce certificate translated in English. Medicals are still pending in Ottawa done on 12th January. Finally he said your application has been accepted and you can pay the landing fee. The last question he asked me that you are well established in US, Why do you want to go to Canada?. After leaving the interview booth he came back to the window and told me to get the document-translated from Urdu to English from a certified translator in US. Now I just have to get the document translated and get medical clearance .I paid the landing fee immediately after the interview.
Guys I am very happy that I got it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I appreciate all the help and support from you guy?s .I will keep you posted.

If anyone knows where to get the document translated (Urdu to English) from a certified translator in US. I would really appreciate your help.

DBKash, I´ve been waiting anxiously to here the results of your interview which i knew was coming up this month. Congrats, at least you sound like the results were positive. Thanks for sharing your experience. Now you can order CAIPS to see what comments the officer might have added after your interview.
Question: Did you have to give him letters from ALL your past and present employers, or just recent one?

What was your answer for why you want to move to Canada?

Was the guy generally polite, any casual talk, or was he serious and intimidating throughout?

All the LA interviewers are So Serious, not even funny. They don?t even speak English. I didn?t understand half of the conversation with my interviewer in LA. For some reason almost all of the employees in LA office are oriental (look like Chinese) and by default they are rude with everybody. No offense to anyone. I don?t recommend people to choose LA as their interview location. This is my personal experience and you might disagree.
