Subject: Immigrant Professionals - Make Your Voice Heard!
The Policy Roundtable Mobilizing Professions and Trades (PROMPT) is an immigrant roundtable that conducts research and influences policy so that it results in the economic and social integration of immigrant professionals.

Through our members we represent over 20,000 immigrant professionals and are the collective voice of immigrant professionals in Ontario.

We have commissioned a research paper on initiatives the government is taking to integrate immigrant professionals into the labour force. One such set of initiatives relate to bridge training programs. We are conducting a review of those and are seeking to find participants for these focus groups from specific professions.

These professions are:
1. Healthcare
2. Doctors
3. Nurses
4. Pharmacists
5. Physiotherapists
6. Veterinarians
7. Any others including: dentistry, medical technologists etc.

Applied Sciences
1. Engineers
2. Technologists & Technicians
3. Architects
4. Urban Planners
5. Others

Education
1. Teachers (primary, secondary)
2. Lecturers and professors (academics)
3. Others

Social Scientists
1. Social Workers
2. Accountants and Finance professionals
3. Others

Please read these questions. If you answer "yes" to all of them, please contact Nikhat Rasheed at nikhat@cassa.on.ca or (416) 979-8611 ext. 4310.

1. Is you immigration status that of a landed immigrant, permanent resident or citizen?
2. Did you receive your education and training in the specified professions above in a country other than Canada?
3. Did you immigrate on the basis of your professional education and experience?
4. Have you or are you interested in participating in bridge training (labour market support) programs for your specific profession?
5. Have you or are you interested in pursuing licensing, registration or certification in Ontario, in order to practise in your profession?

If you answered yes to the above questions you qualify for our focus group. If you participate, you will be provided with refreshments and reimbursed for travel expenses within the Toronto-Hamilton region.

Even if you don´t qualify to participate in our focus groups, you can become a member of an immigrant professionals association within your profession e.g. if you are a doctor, you can become a member of the Association of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (AIPSO).

As immigrants ourselves, we really encourage you to contact Nikhat Rasheed at nikhat@cassa.on.ca or (416) 979-8611 ext. 4310 so that together, we can become a stronger collective voice and really be able to work in our professions and contribute to building a better Ontario.

Thanks!

I just wonder why are you such a good person ? Hope you are not gonna charge anything ?

Final suggestion to all immigrants if you cannot find a job in canada try to find ways to milk other immigrants like Nikhat Rasheed (probabl;y a paki or indian curry lover) and hide your feelings or real face under some beautiful innocent words such as: help, collective, support, voice, be togetherm be strong ((((but pay pay pay pay)

Good work Nikhat hope some buy it ...

Hi - no, nothing was charged for this. I can understand your cynicism - so many people do milk immigrants for their money. The point is for immigrant professionals to join with others so that they can help themselves.
