| Subject: trying to get spouse to canada |

I got married to a wonderful girl from nicaragua, but now that i want her to come to canada she can not get a visitors visa because "THEY" think she wont return. i have already started the permenent visa but who knows how long that will take for the government to finish up in Guatamala. The visitors visa was declined because they beleive she wont return and everything else was fine. Now i beleive this line of regulations is really "crap" becase she is married to a canadian born citizen there should be some checks on her criminal record and then decide on if they want her to enter the country not if she is going to leave after. With all the illegal immigrates coming in to the country and not having to leave it sure makes this whole process of trying to to it legally worthless and jsut bring her to canada then when they try to say something about sending them back they CANT because she is married to a canadian. But they let all these ppl in that are criminals and have money. We even showed them that she had a job to return to after the 3 months visit and that we had already started the permenent residence and that she would need to go back to get her papers for that and that we were not going to start the whole process over. My brothers wedding is coming up and so is another friends as well and is in 3 months. It al ljsut makes me mad when being criminal pays and that this government seems to follow those guide lines insteada using some common sence. like spouses to common arn´t really equal as are male to female spouses if they are worried about criminal activity. I beleive in being equal but common sence has to factor to some people and there is none. i dont know what else can be done to get my wife here and makes me think this GREAT COUNTRY isnt all the great when you cant have your wife here with you BUT the government will try and charge you taxes on a wife they wont let you have in hte country. anyone else that has had problems like this and has helpful hints would be great.

anyone coming from a 3rd world country has a terrible time entering Canada. My fiance was told to wait until he gets his PR to come. All the promises and logic to return have been pointless.
they don´t care about weddings, funerals, babies or anything else. enough people have spoiled it so that CIC errors on the side of caution.

I feel for you wholeheartedly Lance -
My story is I met my Canadian husband to be in the 1980´s, (his parents were British). After 2 yrs we married had a child and a year later moved to Canada, he sponsered me, we then had another child in Canada. My husband began to drink very heavily and was very heavy handed with me on more than one occasion and then out of the blue decided he wanted to return to live in the UK, I wanted to continue to live in Canada, I had lots of friends and a very good job but he insisted that if he left I would have to go with him under his sponsorship, this I believed at the time (more fool me). We returned to UK and after 1yr split and got divorced, he then returned a few yrs later to Canada. When our kids grew up they both returned to canada as they are both Canadian Citizens, my daughter is now very ill and I came over in Nov 05 with my partner and spent 6 months on holiday visa to be with her, I wanted to stay, extend visa and eventually apply for work permits, we had enough money to last us for approx 18months without working, I was told the file may not even be opened for 3-4 yrs and I should go home and apply from there. I then had to leave my daughter come home and apply from here which could take 3-5 yrs. I think your right, what I should have done is just stay illegally, lots of people do it and get away with it, I get so mad. I had to leave my home, job and friends all because my Canadian alcoholic, wife beating husband said I had to!!!! yeah, Canada is a wonderful place with wonderful friendly people, the land of hope and opportunity. BULLSHT.

Well then fuck back to the UK! Your the fool who didn´t meet the residence requirements so stop blaming immigration because your too lazy to look up the information on retaining your residence!

I am back in the UK, in my Gov job but just applied to transfer to Heathrow to Immigration Dept, how ironic is that?? I feel I may have more chance of getting in a little quicker than normal now.
AND then I will return and believe me in the end I will milk Canada for all I can. Bet your really pissed off at me now hahahaha.

but really why milk canada. it people like you and me that pay for it not hte government or your husband. You want to get even get even with him, its stuff like that that makes it hard when you want to come live off the hard working people. as my mom heard so lady saying she was coming to canada so she could get some medical eye surgery for free....its the hard working people that pay for it. If your husband filed a sponcership that completed then usee that against him and he has to pay for you i think for 10 years ...but i dont know all the perticulars....i just find that sorta thingfrusterating as well when your mad at someone else but lets make canada pay for it.

What your not understanding Lance is that I am not mad at my husband(he died of alcoholism 2 yrs ago) I am mad at Immigration and the Gov in general. I worked and payed my taxes for years, I was willing to wait for 18 months. Under Compassionate & Humanitarian reasons they could have pushed it through within that time - I could not wait and not work for up to 5 yrs as they said. Where is their compassion now? my daughter is very ill, why don´t they give a sht about their own. What will happen when she is so ill she needs caring for will they look after her and send staff to help her? Hmmm you know that answer.

you can probably come through permenent visa, you said you have 2 kids right? have them sponser you and should take with in a year for you to get here and as your daughter is a canadian citizen if she is to ill she can get nurses to help her...i know my best friend was in a wheel chair for most his life and he had a live in care attendent because his parents had to work and so farth so yes i believe that she could and would get help...but i still feel you could get to canada through means of a permenent residence visa...have you tried applying with that...i know it still alot of time but your chance of it probably would be good....i know how you feel...i am very mad at the government too, they make up laws and rules for the criminals not for the good honest people and you have more righ then most the people they let in here. what country are you from...certian country dont need a visitors visa to come to canada.
