| Subject: Tourist Visa while PR application pending |

My PR application is pending (AOR June 05) @ the buffalo office, however I wanted to obtain a tourist visa to go visit Canada at the Detroit office. My status (paperwork) in the US is legitimate. Do you think there are any barriers to getting a multiple entry visa into Canada....anything I should be cautious about? Does PR applicaiton hinder the tourist visa app? Is is better to apply in person or mail the applicaiton in?

a PR application is technically not supposed to hinder a tourist visa but I think reality would suggest otherwise.
There will be huge pressure on you to prove that you will not be waiting out the rest of your application in Canada - that you have every intention of returning to the US. You will need to show ties to your home, your job, etc.
Chances are good they will just say - wait until you get your PR to travel.

I applied for and got a tourist visa to Canada while my PR application was pending . It should not be a problem . Just be honest in your visa application .
