Subject: statuatory declaration
I am a canadian living in the UK. My partner is English. We are beginning the application process for him to come to canada with me and I need statuatory declarations from two people who know us and can verify we are really a couple.

I have people to do this, I even have someone who can sign it - I just don´t know how to go about producing these documents for them all to sign. Any advice?

Is there a specific format that is acceptable? Do I need to fork out for a lawyer to write it? Can I do it on my own?

Thanks

Sponsorship etc (in reply to: statuatory declaration)
Hi Gayle,

You need as much proof as you can get to show that the relationship is bona-fide. If you are in a common-law relationship for a long period of time, and you can show that through pictures, joint accounts, bills etc the letters from people are not so important.
Use whatever proves that your relationship is genuine. in a common-law relationship you must show that you have lived together for at least 12 months like a married couple.

To answer your question, there is no one format for thsoe letters. let me know if you need help. I hav worked with many successful sponsorship applications. you want it to be perfect to minimize delay.
