hey guys,
i m an international student here in Canada since january 2005. how do i file an income tax return here in canada. last year some students filed and they received about 1000 dollars back in GST i think. i have asked my college but they haven´t been help ful at all. can anyone help me.

Especially, they have nice program for Low Income Family.
=> Free for low-income taxpayers
If your total family income is $25,000 or less, you will not be charged any fee to print or NetFile your return(s) with UFile.*
Anyone may try using UFile at no charge. If your income exceeds this limitation, you will be asked to pay only when you are completely satisfied.
*This is based on the total amount from line 150 of the federal return of each member of your family.

If you don´t have SIN, then you should make TTN (Temporary Taxation Number) first. Ask to International centre at your school.
If your income was $25,000 or less, "Ufile" will provide you as a Electronic version file(xx.pdf). Just print it out and send it. That´s it!
