Subject: Different translation of degree name.
  Hi,

I am applying for the SW through Buffalo. I meet a problem that my Bachelor´s degree was translated into two different names in English.

My undergraduate university in China translated my Bachelor´s degree name into "Bachelor of Engineering" on my official transcript. However, the notary office in my home city translated the same degree name into "Bachelor of Science in Engineering" on their notary report of my Bachelor´s degree diploma. Technically, the university´s translation is more precisely because I graduated from CS department. But the notary office insisted that their translation is correct. I don´t know if this translation difference will cause immigration officer any misunderstanding on my degree. Could anyone please give me some suggestion on this matter? I wonder whether I should write a letter to explain it or just leave it there and wait until the immigration officer ask about it.

Thanks a lot

Hiya Albert, (is this a chinese name ?)

Since the officals will not look at the Chinese version of your diploma and try to translate and check whether your diploma has been translated accurately or not ... just forget about it... the officals will only look at the translation...(jusy my opinion)
Good luck
