Subject: Canadian Immigration and Marraige
Today I received a letter from Canadian Consulate asking for the passport. However my marital status has changed since my application and now I am married. Do experts have any suggestion for me? Should I send my passport, is there a way I can contact the Consulate. I have no luck in getting response from their fax number few months back when I was trying to get a status check.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

You´re screwed. You should have added your wife (fiancee) beforehand. Even if you sent your passport, landed in Canada and sponsored her, they would ask when you got married and the dates won´t check out as they´ll figure out you married before you landed and didn´t add her. Suggest you find an attorney!

Send them a fax, using the forms sent to your when they acknowledged receipt of your application. There is a portion on that form for change in marital status. They would send you the appropriate documents to fill when there is a change in marital status. This would delay your landing but I see it as you better delay now than have problems in the near future. They might expedite processing of your wife´s application now that your passport request has been made.
Good luck

you have 2 lousy choices.

advise CIC about the change of status. Do not attempt to land without doing this. it will take some time to process your wife but at least she will be able to come with you.

second option...do not advise CIC, land, and never be allowed to sponsor your wife EVER and risk your PR being revoked because you misrepresented your status.

lousy choice but I know which one I would do.

Dude its very simple don´t inform anybody that you ever got married.... land in canada .... come back to your country and get married(new date ) to the same girl.

Then file for ur wife´s immigration.
