Subject: Less points than required !
Me and my family are planning to immigrate to canada as we have very little opportunities to study here. The problem is that we planned to go in the enterprenaur category but couldnt due to the point that my dad didnt own a business. Now,we plan to go in the skilled worker category and the problem is that we fall short of 4 points.Theonly place where we can gain points is the language factor and my dad´s language skills are a bit weak.Could anyone tell me what happens if the applicant does not meed the required points?Does the CIC officer have the right to grant them citizenship evemn if they dont meet the required points?

They say it is possible to be approved with less than 67 points but nobody ever hears about it actually happening.

You could try to come as a student and then secure you own PR once you are finished your schooling. after that you could sponsor your parents. It is a very long process to accomplish what you want, but there is not much that can be done to side step your point requirments unless he has a skill that is in high demand and he could obtain a work permit.

Just a kind word of advice - the point system is your friend. It helps to identify if you will find success in Canada.

what are you prepared to offer Canada in exchange for all the things you would like?

You don´t want to pay to come to Canada to study or as a skilled worker, you would like Canada to give your father a place to live for free... you would like your mother and brother come- and who will look after them????

Citizenship? It´s not citizenship you get, it´s permanent residence. You have to be in Canada a certain amount of time, you can´t vote or have certain jobs. Have you researched this at all?! The points are not flexible, so he will have to learn the second language to a reasonable level or you should look for other ways. I agree with Sharon above.

We have never planned to stay in canada forever. We planned to immigrate so that we could avail of the education there. We are willing to invest in canada but are a bit dubious over the chances of immigrating by investing in the regional provinces. And about the second thing that we have to stay,i have researched that and i know that we have to stay a minumum of three years in canada to get the passport and citizenship.

Salik, the more you talk the angrier I get.

´We have never planned to stay in Canada forever. We planned to immigrate so that we could avail of the education there.´

As a Canadian I am not interested in working all my life and paying taxes all my life so you can simply arrive, take advantage of our cheap medical and free/and relatively cheap educational system and then waltz off to somewhere else.

How insulting. Go somewhere else.

Sharon, you are getting angry for no apparent reason. My parents plan to return back to our native land while we ,thats me and my two brothers planned to start working and studying in Canada. Why do you think that i regard candian services as useless?I respect all canadians and thats why i want to go there and join my cousins over there.I did not plan to harm any of your feelings neither someone else´s.Forgive me if i did.

One thing, can students become canadian citizens as you mentioned earlier in your post.that is they finish their studies then get a job and then apply for citizenship within canada. After that ,how long does it usually take then to sponsor any family members.

students must find employment - then they can apply for permanent residency. it takes 1-2 years to do so. once that is completed, you may begin the process of sponsoring your parents (after showing income etc). Sponsoring your parents can take 2-3 years. (it is getting slower and slower). There are restrictions on who you can sponsor so you may wish to investigate this further. Siblings are not eligable for sponsorship unless they come with your parents, are still attending school and dependant on them.

Citizenship is not part of this exercise. you must reside a minimum of 3 years in Canada before you can apply for citizenship.

"We are willing to invest in canada but are a bit dubious over the chances of immigrating by investing in the regional provinces."

Why?
