Subject: Please help! Medical Exam (Urine test problem).
The doctor asked me to redo my urine test since they found high level of blood in it.The result of second time turned out to be the same (persistent hematuria(greater than 5 RBC?s/HPF)). So I was told to do further test next week. Is it going to be something serious? Am I going to be rejected because of this? I am a 26 yrs old female in Canada. Anybody has experienced the same thing before? Please please share your experience. I am extremely worried about it right now:( Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Pckyla,
There are different causes of Hematuria. Only after proper invertigation it is possible to find out the specific cause and thats exaclty what your DMP is trying to do.
The most common cause in women of your age is the urinary tract infection. And that is not a big problem considering your PR application.
Just relax let your DMP find out whats the cause of hematuria.

best of luck

Consifder Menstruation too (in reply to: Please help! Medical Exam (Urine test problem).)
If you are a female , there are chances of contamination of Urine by menstrual blood. So it could show false positive result.

this is nothing to be worry about,
many people have hematuria, and in many cases the reason is unknown. the cic will put you in category 3 (May need periodical care), but it does not affect your application

Thanks for your info, C and Mozilla... this forum is awesome! I calmed down a little bit right now, but I still have to go through some blood test:( Anyway, we´ll see...

If I could take the urine test again, is there any chance that I can get different result(normal blood content)? It would be ideal to get a perfect normal medical exam result. Does it make sense to get another urine test done(third time)? Sorry for such a naive question, but your help is greatly appreciated!

I too had blood in my urine and have yet to go for another test. It is worrying me also but I figure it can be a simple thing too. I have normally very good blood pressure too and on the day of the medical it was 185/100 too high she said so I had to pay for an extra blood test to make sure I do not have organ damage. it is very daunting and stressful going for the medicals so I put the high blood pressure down to that. Does anyone know if something shows up on a medical as a problem will the Doctor notify you?

keep testing (in reply to: Please help! Medical Exam (Urine test problem).)
Hi,
drink lots of fluids i mean gallons and do the test multiple times. i think one of it will be normal. the fluids will dilute the blood so much that it will be within normal limits

I did my urine test again this week it was done in my home town at a lab and sent to the medical Doctor who is doing the immigration medical and she phoned today to tell me that it showed I have an infection so she prescribed antibiotics and rang them through to my pharmacy. So at least i have an answer. If your urine shows no infection then i would also be drinking heaps of water and keeping my body flushed out. You could try UriSense it is a probiotic that supports urinary health. let us know how you get on it does not necessarily mean something bad.
