Subject: longish visit |
Hi folks, I need to visit Canada for a few months while I search for a job and apply for a temp work visa. I live in Oregon, would I need to submit a temporary visitor application?

(in reply to: longish visit) You can´t just come in and work unless it´s a NAFTA job. Temp. work visas are not that easy to come by and you´d be better of getting an intra-company transfer. I think the job has to be such that only you can do it, no Canadian can - you´ll probably need human resources approval and that´s quite hard to get! You can stay as a US citizen in Canada for 6 months without a visa.

(in reply to: longish visit) I´m also in the process of applying for a permanent visa. Will that make a difference in getting a temp work visa? Thanks for your information!

(in reply to: longish visit) don´t ask a question when you don´t want to hear the honest answer.
