dogs from the US are absolutely no problem -- I take mine back and forth all the time. You just need a current rabies certificate which you can get for free from your vet.
For other species and other countries -- check the website.

I agree, though I think you might want to also bring records of other immunizations given, like distemper, etc., which you ought to have in your possession, anyway, when you visit a Canadian vet.

that is great that my dog can come with me. it is just when i am going there for landing purpose and if that is going to pose a problem. i dont intend to stay there at all for i need to come back for work in the US. so it is like i am going to the port of entrance. do the all 9 yards with the port of authority and when i am all done and will just turn around and come back to the US. sounds ok?
should i include my dog in my initial application? that is funny.

Nowhere in the application should you mention your dog, there is no place for such information.
Just have proof of rabies shots. Landing and returning with your dog shouldn´t be a problem.
