Subject: Apply for family class
How long did it take you to get a marriage certificate in Canada?
How long did it take for both you and your sponsor to prepare all the documents to submit?
How long did it take you to receive non criminal record ? If the application is done from outside Canada, will it take you longer?

Thanks.

That´s such a vague question, it totally depends on your circumstances e.g. where you´re from, where you´ve lived, if you have kids or previous marriages and so on.

Q1: How long did it take you to get a marriage certificate in Canada?
A: I got married in Australia and got my Government issued marriage certificate the following day. You can Send in your application with out it. Just write a Letter that explained why your waiting for it to be issued.

Q2: How long did it take for both you and your sponsor to prepare all the documents to submit?
A: It took me about 3 hours to fill in the forms. I also then went over it 2 or 3 times to make sure it was correct. Just make sure you read the instruction guide as it takes you step by step.

Q3: How long did it take you to receive non criminal record ? If the application is done from outside Canada, will it take you longer?
A: I had to get mine from Australia and it took about 3 weeks.

I also had my medical done in Australia about 4 weeks before I sent my papers to CPC-M. I paid all the fees up front and I was sponsored by my wife. I got my Passport request 88 days after I posted my papers to CPC-M.

To mklmkl,

Thanks for replying. Yes, it was really a vague question.
Here is my circumstance. I live in Japan and my boyfriend live in Canada. I don´t have a kid and I´d like to apply for family class visa from Japan. I heard that it would take me more than 5 months to receive non-criminal record from RCMP. We have not started filling out the forms. I would like to know whether all the documents have to be sent at the same time.
If so, I have to wait until I get some documents, such as non criminal certificate and health check report and so on.

To Anonymous,

I think that there is a lot difference between Australia and Japan, especially non criminal record. It was really quick. Thank you very much for your all comments.
