Subject: $975 RPRF CUT IN HALF as promissed?
Hi guys,
If anyone has information about the Harper´s initiative please post it. He said on 4th January that if he was to be elected as Prime Minister he would cut the RPR fee in half immediately. He was appointed but nothing happened so far...
Maybe he changed his mind...

Hey Gavin good point let me call him and ask him to keep his promise....

Everyone has his or her own priority in life for us everything related to immigration is important, but do you think this is the politicians´ main concern in Canada?

Do you really believe in politicians promises ? And do you think (even he is such a person to keep his words), immigration landing fee is the main concern of the Canadian government??

Belive me this could be the last issue in their agenda... They have to solve other important problems such as, health care, education, employment, tax, social security, traffic, human rights, drug smuggling,etc.. see if I continue my list the landing fee will come at the bottom of my list even...

So we all must just be ready to pay 975 Cad...
Cheers,

Considering the new ministers are likely to be just moving into their new offices this morning, you certainly have your hopes set very high. Don´t expect to see any reduction at least until the budget, whenever that is.

government does not begin work until sometime in March. there is a huge amount of ´opening´ business they must do and several pieces of legislation that must take priority. If it can be done simply through the department of immigration with a policy change... you might see it quicker. if not... it may take a while for it to work its way to the top of the list.

I have no reason to think he will go back on his promise. the big question is when it will take effect.

Hey Sharon can you imagine he says ´yes I am keeping my words and promises and I am reducing the the landing fee by 50 per cent,´ and just after doing that he makes the initial application fee 1500 Cad hahhaha, I would do so if I were a smart plotician.... Hehhhe ..

Smile...

Believing in what polititians promise?? Hahahaha... Good one! They only do things when they are pressed to do something, and hardly ever do what they promise to do while trying to get to the office. Do you think the canadian community is going to press really hard on him to remove the landing fee? Does the canadian community even knows what landing fee is? Or maybe the cabinet is gonna press on him to remove a great source of free money? Oh, man! You´re funny!!

I am sure they will get to it... eventually. the media is very good at reminding government about broken promises and so is the opposition party.
