Subject: Medicals done after IA..
Hi I got my medicals done last week and doctor has mailed it to Canada (ottawa). Also sent in my RPRF fee couple of days ago. Will anyone tell me how long will it take for me to get PP request as my interview is waived with no more docs needed. How long will they take to issue passport request by Buffalo CIC if interview is waived in IA and medicals has already been sent and RPRF already paid. Also when will CIC update the e-client? do they do it once Ottawa recieved my medicals? will it change to Medicals received? how long does this take. Please let me know. Thanks and Happy new year in advance.

A lot of us have been waiting for 5-6 months post medical (with interview waiver). Sit tight for few months and enjoy life and this forum in the meanwhile!

E-client is just not very reliable at the moment (I say this with the hope that it will be in the future). Although you can check e-client every Monday or Tuesday, I have read that they update it during those days.

How long? No one can really tell. Medical will at least take 2-4 months before being assessed/recorded. Then there is the much dreaded background check. No one can really tell you here how long it´s gonna be done. It depends on the different countries that you have lived before...how fast they cooperate etc. You are currently in the stage where you have really no control over the situation.

Maybe an email inquiry every 4 or 6 months will not be a bad idea...or you can request CAIPS after 6 months just to see where you stand....good luck

Hi Bugatti,

After IA the background and security checks start. It can take anywhere from 3 months to well over a year to complete these checks.

1. Background check - verification of education and experience credentials when employers and schools may be contacted to verify authenticity of documents and truthfulness of your claims. If particular claim cannot be conclusively verified then it won?t be counted.

and

2. Background/Security check - conducted completely outside of immigration by Canadian intelligence and security agencies with or without cooperation of proper authorities in countries you lived in to find out if you are or were involved in and/or associated with someone who is or was involved in activities like terrorism, espionage, organized crime, radical movements, crimes against humanity, etc

Hi Kenny,

You mentioned about background check for verification of education and experience, is this only for the principal applicant or for everyone on the application who is immigrating?

Thanks

Security check is conducted for all adults listed in the application.

Background check: If you are claiming any points from your spouse´s education, then verification of education and experience credentials will also be done for the spouse alongwith the principal applicant.
