Subject: Police Clearance Certificate (Indian Nationals)

Hi All,
Did anybody apply for a Police Clearance Certificate from Consulate General Chicago (Illinois). If so can you please let me know the details and procedure.

Did you send the original passport. If so how many days did it take for you to get the PCC. Thanks.

Sam,

I applied with the photocopies of passports with the fees. They called me in 3 (or less) weeks and informed that they got the PCC from India and asked to send the original passports.

I sent the original and they stamped on the passport saying that PCC issued for CANADA. They sent back the original passports within 2 days.

So your original passport will be with only for a few days.

hi dell,
so looks like Chicago and Sanfrancisco follow the same procedure. I also sent the photocopies to Chicago and i am waiting for their call. They said they will take 45 days so am curious and anxious. thx for your help though. so i think i am following the same procedure as others.

Do we get a PCC letter from the (chicago)indian consulate with a PCC stamping in the passport ? or Just stamping alone ?

Hi,

Do i have to send a separate form for the spouse(wife) for the PCC from Chicago. Or Just a copy of her passport will do.
