Subject: US Citizen moving with Canadian Citizen to Canada
My wife has lived in the states for five years and is a Canadian Citizen. We are looking to move to Canada. My questions are the following:

How long does the application process take?

How long before I can land?

What is the process or how long is it before I can get a work permit and get a job?

It takes about 6 months average as mine did. You can land after you are approved and get the visa stamped in your passport. After you land which must be before the expiration of your visa in your passport, you will be granted permanent resident status by the Canadian immigration officer at the border. At that time you are entitled to work. Getting a job is up to you, but you should be able to look fo one at the Canada Human Resources office where you will apply for a Canadian Social Insurance Number (like a Social Security Number). They have job listings there. You can also accumalate physical residence days in Canada outside of Canada if you are abroad with a Canadian citizen spouse.
