Subject: 6.5, they accept??
  Hi friend
I´m a 40yrs old Bangladeshi doctor.MBBS [graduation] + masters in Neuro medicine.
Total 22yrs education. Now my problem is my "IELTS" band score is only "6.5",
I heard that CIC Singapore doesn´t accept below 7.
If I send my application with this IELTS score, n is there any possibility that CIC will ask me to retake the exam?? According to my count my score is 63 without language ability. further how much score from IELTS I can expect???
Any advice would be appreciated. please everybody over there advice.

hassan,
you need 7 band only if you want to get full points for language. if you have 6.5, you will get points according to the following chart.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/skilled/qual-3-1.html#IELT

if you score is 63 without any points for language, 6.5 band IELTS should easily add 5+ points.

Hi Hasan,

You will not get additional points because of your cousin.

You can get 5 additional points if you or your accompanying spouse has a relative who is a parent, grandparent, child, grandchild, child of a parent, sibling, child of a grandparent, aunt or uncle, or grandchild of a parent, niece or nephew who is residing in Canada and is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

Rashedul, it sounds like you have established yourself very well in your home country. Before you make such an important step in your life, please make sure you understand how your profession is regulated in Canada. I do not want you to be disappointed in any way.

Hasan,
I am a Bangladeshi student in Canada right now, and I should inform you that you will NOT be able to practice medicine when you get here. You will have to go back to medical school in Canada in order to gain your qualifications as a doctor.

Dear Sir,

My file was closed last year because I didn?t submit IELTS result & visa officer awarded me 65 points. I need two more points to qualify. But this year again I applied & submitted IELTS result. My overall band is 6.5.Is that ok.Please advise.
