Firstly I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and also Happy New Year. Hopefully celebrations will be enchanced with more PP Requests!

Secondly I´ve applied to the London Office for PR. My timeline so far is:

Applied Feb 05
AOR Feb 05

Could other London applicants let me know of their progress?

Cheers,

Jim

Hi Jim Merry Christmas & Happy New Year, You´re very lucky to got your AOR at a very short period of time. CiC London Received my Application last July 4, 2005, but until now I dont have AOR, I inquired from them thru fax & email 4 weeks ago but no response yet. I hope after the holiday I will received mind, 6 months for AOR??? by the way Im here in Saudi Arabia.

Thanks!

Vic,

Thanks for your response! 6 months is an awfully long time for an AOR. From what I´ve seen on this and other forums the longest response from CIC has been 2 months. Thats mainly down to Christmas or New Year. I think you need to chase up and find out. Faxing them definitely the right thing and keep pestering them otherwise they never respond!

I´m in the UK myself. Which part of Canada are you planning to move to?

Yes its really frustrating, here in Saudi Arabia I personally know someone got his AOR in 4 months, it was 3 years back. I ask my Friend in Toronto to check in the bank who encash my bank draft, luckily she has a friend in that bank. she will check it in January, my plan location is in Toronto.

Thanks Jim

Hi Vic,

I too had applied from Saudi Arabia (Jan 04) and recv my AOR within 2 nonths (Mar04). I suggest you email/fax them. Moreover you could attach the airway bill (assuming you have courierd your file)which indicates the person who has recvd your file at CIC London. All the best.

Thank you Alex, Im still hoping in coming New year, 1st or 2nd week of January I will have my AOR, if not I will definitely Fax/email them again. I will wait also for the verification of my friend in Toronto Bank, she will try to verify who encashed my bank draf. I sent my Application thru DHL & I have the tracking sheet. They actually received my Package July 4,2005. then they encashed my bank draft dated August 11, 2005 ( The bank here validate the movement of my Bank draft). Its really puzzling! 6 months to be exact on Januray 4 & yet my status is uncertain, the confirmation they open my Application is the movement of my BANK DRAFT.

Anyway Im still hoping for the brighter results in January 2006.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I´m new to this board. Is AOR acknowledgement of receipt?

In which case I got mine in 2 weeks from London, (Sept 05) which I guess is good.

I´m assuming it´s a long wait from here, and reading many of these posts I realise there is a lot I don´t know about the process. So, from here am I waiting for my interview date/waiver? And then what? Is the IA an approval? Then the medical? And then after that do you have to wait for them to ask for you to send your passport? And about how long does all of this really take?

Is processing faster with a good lawyer, and more points (I have 75) or is it all pretty much the same? I´ve sent in proof of funds, all documents, including my police clearances.

I´m sorry I have so many questions - I´m new to this, and can´t wait to get to Canada. My boyfriend, and most of my friends are out there, and I´m stuck visiting as often as I can afford.

Good luck to everyone - I hope to see you there!

Applied from UAE
Submitted on Oct 22, 2005

In the AOR it is mentioned I would hear from CIC London in 36 months time. If all goes well it will be somewhere in year 2008.

Patience folks !I know of friends who got their papers completed in 6 months,9 months,13,15,17 months 20 and more.

The office has their own protocol for processing. Now that all middle east has been moved to the Abu-Dhabi office .Things should speed up a little.Give it a fair 1and half years. If you feel more comfortable with months: about 15 is a good wait.O by the way you better prepare to move as time fliesa nd you´d haveit even before you know
